Volunteers are the heart and hands of our ministry. We’d love for you to share your time and talents with us!
Volunteer Program Mission Statement: The mission of LASM’s volunteer program is to allow individuals in the
community the opportunity to be involved in supporting the needs of older adults in their community,
to provide the community with first-hand knowledge about Lindenwood Area Senior Ministry
and its mission, and to assist the staff in conducting the work of the ministry.
Overview of Volunteer Opportunities.

Administrative Assistant Volunteers.
Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, record keeping, donation receipts, and running errands for LASM staff. Through their service, LASM staff is supported and are able to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly.

Board Member Volunteers.
Provide oversight of the ministry’s staff, programming, and finances. Attend quarterly board meetings and participate in committee work to support the mission and goals of the organization. Through their service the work of the ministry is safeguarded, current programming is supported, and planning for the future is a priority.

Event Assistant Volunteers.
Assist with monthly social and educational events. Make reservations, greet and serve attendees, assist with event set-up and clean-up. Through their service, LASM provides a welcoming and well-organized environment for events.

Fundraiser Volunteers.
Plan and coordinate our ministry’s annual fundraisers, the Spring Fling and Trivia Night. Through their service there is increased awareness of LASM in our community, funds are raised to support the work of LASM, and fellowship is promoted.

Memory Keepers Volunteer Facilitator.
Receive training on facilitating a Memory Keepers group. Facilitate weekly 1-hour classes for individuals with mild to moderate memory loss. Through their service LASM provides fun and engaging ways to promote brain health and decrease loneliness and isolation.

Newsletter Volunteers.
Assemble our monthly newsletter for mailing. Through their service knowledge and promotion of LASM’s programs and services are spread to our service population as well as the sharing of helpful community resources.

Saturday Servant Volunteers.
Provide minor home maintenance, repairs, and adaptations for senior homeowners. Through their service, we increase home safety, provide property upkeep, and add to neighborhood beautification.

Stephen Minister Volunteers.
Receive extensive training on providing Christian care and support to individuals navigating a difficult time. Provide weekly caring visits that offer companionship, listening, and prayer. Through their service a caring presence is extended to those who are hurting in our community.

Transportation Coordinator Volunteer.
Receive medical transportation requests and matches riders with drivers. Through their service, we coordinate safe and prompt transportation to medical care appointments.

Transportation Minister Volunteers.
Provide door-to-door rides to medical appointments. Through their service participants get to necessary doctor’s visits, therapies, labs, and follow-up care appointments.
