Assistance Applying: Senior Property Tax Freeze
The City of St. Louis has enacted a Senior Citizen Property Tax Freeze. Eligible seniors may apply for the credit annually through the City of St. Louis Assessor’s Office.
On Wednesday, April 17th from 10 am til noon you can make a 15-minute appointment with an LASM staff member or volunteer to apply for the freeze.

Recycling + Shredding
LASM partner church, Timothy Lutheran, is hosting its annual scrap metal drive. Come and drop off your scrap metal anytime during the month of April! It can be deposited in the large storage container on Timothy’s parking lot at the corner of Ivanhoe and Fyler.

12th Annual LASM Trivia Night
COST: $25.00 per person
Mark your calendar to join us for fun and games! Our ministry’s 12th Annual Trivia Night will take place on Saturday, November 4th at Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church (6596 Smiley at Ivanhoe).
It’s not too early to begin recruiting your table of 6! Doors will open at 6:30pm and trivia begins at 7pm. Cost: $25/person. Looking for more ways to support the event?
We are seeking $100 round sponsors and donations of raffle items (i.e. gift cards, event tickets, etc.). All proceeds will benefit the care and coordination of our core services: Saturday Servants, medical transportation, Stephen Ministry, case management, social engagement, educational programming and this monthly newsletter.
How to Support:
LASM’s Trivia Committee is seeking donations of raffle items and/or already made raffle baskets. Ideas include autumn or holiday themed décor and treats, games, restaurant gift cards, tickets or memberships to local attractions, store gift cards, gift certificates for services such as hair/nail care, massage or an oil change. We are also seeking volunteers to assist with set-up/clean-up, running the raffle, serving snacks/drinks and judging trivia.

Day Trip: Soldiers Memorial

Ready to kick off the summer by treating your sweet tooth? For literally thousands of years, people have been fascinated with the strange and wonderful fruit, chocolate. Learn the alluring history of this gift from the rain forest, discover how it is cultivated and processed, and then consider ways to take your chocolate addiction into your garden with “chocolate” plants. Our guest speaker will be St. Louis Master Gardener, Betsy Alexander. Following the presentation, we will carpool or caravan to the Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate Factory on The Hill for tours and gift shop shopping.
Itinerary:
11 am - Gather in Memorial Hall of Southwest Baptist Church (6401 Scanlan) for a potluck lunch (bring a dish to share)
11:30 am-12:30 pm - Enjoy Chocolate presentation with Master Gardener, Betsy Alexander
12:30 pm - Depart for Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate Factory (5025 Pattison Ave.)
1-2:30 pm - Tour the Factory and peruse the gift shop
2:30 pm - Return to Southwest Baptist Church to collect dishes and head home
