Enhancing the quality of life of older adults.

Our Beginning.

In 2006, leaders of five churches in the Lindenwood Park Neighborhood of St. Louis City recognized a situation common to them all – an increasing number of aging members facing the challenges of aging in place at home. Daily life tasks like household repairs and driving to doctors’ visits were becoming a greater challenge, and loneliness and isolation were a tangible reality for those who found it physically more difficult to leave their homes. The need was more than any one of the founding congregations could face on their own, but together, they could support the dignity and well-being of their aging members through coordinated resources. The leaders spent a year in thoughtful collaboration with an established nearby nonprofit organization, learning and planning their strategy, and in 2008 they launched Lindenwood Area Senior Ministry as a fully independent entity.

Since its founding, LASM has stayed rooted in its mission and has strengthened and grown its programs to meet the needs present in its community.
